Summary
Lilith continues to notice that Isobel leaves the estate at night. She usually comes back just as the sun begins to rise. It is crop time and on one particular morning Homer goes into town with Quinn and leaves the breakfast and lunch duties to Lilith. Later that morning, Lilith takes Isobel’s breakfast to her room. Isobel is still in bed. Lilith sees men's clothes on the floor. They smell like alcohol and tobacco. There is also another odor that Lilith cannot place. Suddenly, there is a knock on the door. It is Humphrey and he wants to come in. Lilith wraps the clothes in her apron and kicks the boots under the bed. Afterwards, Isobel allows Humphrey to enter the room.
