Summary
Chapter 15 opens with Robert Quinn taking Lilith to Coulibre himself as he does not trust the slave-drivers. Before leaving, Isobel had come in and told Lilith, in Homer's presence, that she has been watching her as she watched Humphrey. She continued to say that Lilith needs to remember her place and that she is going to keep her close to her. When Lilith arrives at the estate, she is about to walk in through the front door. Quinn reminds her to enter through the back door. She soon meets Isobel's stepmother. She warns her to work hard and acts as if her slaves are superior to those at Montpelier. Lilith notices the difference between the two estates and she meets Dulcimena who does things around the house and trains Lilith. Later that evening, Lilith watches as Mr. Roget whips Dulcimena for not...
