Summary
In "Jerusalem: Bethany 30 CE," Ana and Lavi arrived at Lazarus, Mary, and Martha's home. Jesus had taken Passover with his disciples elsewhere. Although disappointed, Ana was excited to see Tabitha. She had learned to speak more clearly, which Ana took as evidence that "the most wounded thing in us always finds a way" (490). Tabitha confessed she had caused a rift between Jesus and Judas; Ana knew Judas had plans to deliver Jesus to the Romans in order to preserve the revolution. At dinner, they all spoke of Jesus's work and politics. He was in danger. Ana comforted herself with her hymns.
