The Trout Inn

The Trout Inn is owned by Mr. Polstead and his wife Mrs. Polstead serves as the cook, while their son Malcolm helps out all over. The inn is located on the banks of the Thames River near the town of Oxford, England. It is made of stone and contains several rooms that are well-decorated.

Due to the inn's proximity to Oxford, the Trout is often full of guests and plays host to a great deal of people, including the occasional important official like the ex-lord chancellor of the country.

Priory of Gostow

Across the river Thames from the Trout Inn is the priory. The priory is run by a group of sisters of the order of St. Rosamund. Malcolm Polstead often helps the sisters with odd jobs and ferries them around in his boat.
