Elizabeth “Beth” Greer

Elizabeth “Beth” Greer is a complex character in that she is both a protagonist and an antagonist. She is both a victim and a murderer. Shea pushes the police to find enough evidence to arrest Beth for Lily’s murder before Beth dies as a result of her aneurysm. At the same time, Beth argues that she killed Lily because she knew that Lily would keep on killing if she did not. Beth felt responsible for bringing the monster who became Lily into their family because she invited Lily in when they were children.
