As Paige reached Magdalen, the Warden reached out and grabbed her and pulled her to safety. She told him she killed Kraz. He was no loss to the Warden and Nashira would want to keep it quiet because it would expose their morality. The Warden had arranged the explosion to distract Thuban. The Warden told Paige to clean her wounds. The Warden treated the laceration on Paige’s cheek with an amber liquid. She learned that the train was only activated during Bone Seasons.
