Summary
Chapter 10 – The Message
The Warden questioned Paige about where she’d been. Whenever the siren sounds, she was to return immediately. If she didn’t obey, he wouldn’t allow her to leave her room. Their training would start the next day. If she didn’t pass her tests, she’d become a performer. The amaurotics cleared the upper floor for her. He reminded her that they could not touch except in training. In other words, if he was bleeding to death, she couldn’t help him.
Paige’s accommodations upstairs were not as luscious as those in the guest bedroom. In fact, it was more like a jail cell, but at least she had privacy.
