Chapter 5 – The Indifferent

The next night, Paige looked out the window and saw Rephaite guards positioned by large oak doors. There was a fresh uniform on her bed with a note that said to wait for the bell. She thought back to her history classes. London had become the first Scion citadel. She wondered if the Rephaim may have triggered the rise of the Scion. She wanted to figure that out but her first goal was to escape. She wanted to find Seb. He wasn’t a voyant; he was just a kid. He shouldn’t even be there. She took the pills she found. The city was filled with nonhumans. Maybe the pills were to protect her from toxins and contamination.
