Summary

Marinus arrives at the Horologists' safe house, 119A, in New York City, where his servant, Sadaqat, is waiting. Marinus receives an audio letter from a man who tells the history of the deaf school founded by his father. The man says that Esther Little came to him in 1984 with a large donation to the school. In return, she asked that he send a package to Marinus when a porcelain statue on a shelf in his office breaks. He says that just happened in a freak accident.
