Summary

“Crispin Hershey's Lonely Planet, 2015,” opens with May 1, 2015. Crispin Hershey is a writer who had success with his first novel but is struggling after Richard Cheeseman writes a scathing review of his second book. He is working through a book tour though he has begun to hate the drudgery of dealing with people who have read Cheeseman's review. His agent is losing interest as well. After being interviewed, Crispin joins other writers for a book signing. He first thinks he has a huge queue of people waiting for him but discovers all but a few are lined up for Holly Sykes who has written a “spiritual memoir” called “The Radio People.”

Later, a woman named Soleil Moore confronts Crispin, demanding that he read her manuscript, “Soul Carnivores.” Crispin rudely dismisses her. Crispin endures a party later but hates...
