Chapters The Nipa Barn, Chez Dr. Isidro Cruz, and The Aero-Móvil Summary
In Chapter The Nipa Barn, page 100, Carriscant visits Pantaleon's house. Even though the physicians have enjoyed a long professional association they appear to have little social interaction and this is Carriscant's first visit. He finds that Pantaleon has built a large nipa barn in which he is constructing a heavier-than-air aircraft, or airplane. Pantaleon calls it an Aero-Móvil. Of course, historically, powered flight has not yet been invented and thus Pantaleon's efforts are progressive and highly speculative. Carriscant, until now unaware of Pantaleon's interests beyond work, realizes where Pantaleon has been spending all his money and free time.
