Summary

Chapter 43

With everyone so focused on Percy and Annabeth they don’t notice Piper at all. Taking advantage of that she then attacks and chops off the giant’s hand just as she's about to kill Annabeth. Annabeth is slightly grazed in the rescue attempt and her blood falls onto the ground where it turns from red to gold. Gaea's offering of demigod blood is commencing. In a frenzy Piper goes around the circle attempting to keep all of the giants at bay while Annabeth and Percy try to get away. There are just too many of them, and soon they find themselves hemmed in. At the last moment, they hear commotion overhead. The Argo II has arrived bringing the 'calvary'.

The battle that ensues is rather one sided, though the demigods hold their own for a while. As giants, and immortals...
