Summary

In Chapter 44, Christian Bouchard and Mikhail were among the members of Gabriel’s team who were at the airport in France to make sure Natalie arrived safely. Bouchard sensed Mikhail’s relief when they saw Natalie. He also sensed that Mikhail was in love with her.

Natalie settled back into her life as Leila. She had trouble sleeping and not much appetite. Several days after she returned to Paris, her boss, who was a member of Gabriel’s team took her out for coffee. He drove her to a large manor house where Mikhail was waiting at the door. He told her they were watching her as much as they could and saw she had been taken to a house near Mosul. She told him they should have bombed that house. She added she was afraid Gabriel would be disappointed with her.
