Chapters 26-30 Summary
Harry returns to Calexico to see if he can find the castle of which Moore talked to his wife. Harry finds it through the historical society and takes a drive out to look at it. A neighbor woman turns out to be the ex-owner's sister-in-law. This woman tells Harry that the owner died the year before, and the house was sold, but no one ever moved in. The woman also tells Harry how the owner, Cecil Moore, had a son with his Hispanic maid, but that he threw the woman and her son out after he learned she had a husband and child in Mexico. The woman continues by saying that Calexico Moore often returned to the house just to sit and stare at it from the street for hours at a time. Harry thanks the woman and then leaves, returning...
