Summary
“We Lost Our Memories at the Movies” begins with Galip waking up in his apartment once again. He goes out, following his morning routine, before taking a taxi out to the home Rüya shared with her ex-husband. He prepares to find Rüya and simply ask her to explain herself, then leave his life. However, upon knocking, Galip discovers Rüya’s ex-husband with his new wife and two children. He tells the same story he told to Saim, and gets sucked into a long discussion with the ex-husband. The man tells him story after story. He explains how movie theaters blind the people and caused the fall of Istanbul. His marriage to Rüya was motivated by a political fire that required living under false identities and supporting manifestos created from experiences...
