Ravens

While ravens have a lot of different meanings throughout the novel, the most important one to the overall plot is their connection to new beginnings. Their arrival at Diana’s home in the beginning marks the transition point for her family as a whole. The black bird oracle cards, which contain numerous symbols related to ravens, constantly remind Diana that she needs to let go of some things in her life in order to make room for her new desire to learn higher magic. Time and time again, these birds appear when Diana or the others in her family have a critical choice to make.

Threads
