Point of View
The majority of Black Bird Oracle is told in the first person perspective through the eyes of Diana Bishop-Clermont. As a descendant of both the Bishops and the Proctors married to the de Clermonts, Diana is the epicenter of three, very powerful family lines who have intertwined in multiple points throughout history. This accomplishes two important things for her position as a narrator. First, it gives her a reason to learn about every side, even if there is conflict between other members of the family. For example, Sarah Bishop is extremely distrustful of Gwyneth Proctor, but Diana sees them both as her aunts and encourages them to settle their differences for the greater good.
