Summary
In Chapter 11, the horse carries the companions as far as it can before tiring. Fatima gets angry, accusing Vikram and Hassan of leaving her. She tells them about seeing Luz. Vikram warns her not to waste her anger.
Hassan tells them he dreamt of a golden bird the night prior. Walking and talking, Vikram tells Fatima to close her eyes. When she opens, she sees the ocean for the first time. Overwhelmed, Fatima does not want to leave the view. Vikram tells her about the tide and the moon. Later Hassan tells Fatima he thinks his mapmaking talent is a heavenly gift, suggesting he should be punished by the Inquisition after all. Fatima disagrees.
