Summary

In Chapter 23, Nora revealed that she had learned Jameson was planning on proposing on Crowning Day, which was just two days away. Hollis, Nora, Delia, and Scarlet practiced their dance for the festivities. Scarlet told Hollis that her family had found land in the country and would be leaving shortly. Hollis left the dance practice and cried.

In Chapter 24, Jameson sent Hollis three crowns to choose from on the morning of Crowning Day. She decided to wear a crown of fresh flowers instead. Her mother told her not to do so, but Hollis said she knew who she was.
