Zoey Albro

Zoey Albro is the protagonist of the novel and the narrator. She is a seventh-grade girl who lives in a small trailer with a big family. She shares a room with her toddler-age siblings, Bryce and Aurora, and they all sleep on a mattress together. Her mother sleeps with baby Hector and her boyfriend, Lenny, who owns the trailer. Lenny’s dad, Frank, also lives in the trailer with them. Zoey has never known her father, but she was close with Bryce and Aurora’s dad, and loved to go hunting with him before he abandoned them. She loves Lenny and enjoys watching football with him. She resents her mother, who has fallen into a deep depression ever since getting together with Lenny.
