Ezra's Relationship with Cassidy

Ezra meets Cassidy almost immediately upon his return to school as a senior. He spends lunch with Toby and Toby's friends, and Cassidy joins them. Their attraction is almost immediate and they are soon spending time together. Cassidy is an important influence in his life. She takes him to several college classes in order to find material for their upcoming debates. When they attend a chemistry class by mistake, Ezra is mesmerized. This is the first time he fully realizes what college will be like and that he might seek out something more than a local state college.

Cassidy also encourages Ezra to think about his appearance. She takes him to a vintage clothing store where she challenges him to think about what he wants rather than choosing the least conspicuous clothing he can find. She takes that same tactic with his bedroom...
