Summary

In “The Age of Loneliness,” Chapter 2, “Dickie,” Ryszard posts two clips of him and Dickie having sex on a pornography website. Dickie panics about his family discovering them. He has “tried everything [he] can think of,” but cannot come up with the money (557). When Dickie shares his anxieties with Victor, Victor suggests that Dickie kill Ryszard.

In “Cass,” Cass considers professing her feelings to Elaine, but loses her nerve again. Shortly thereafter, Cass runs into Merle and invites her to a party she and Elaine are having. Merle is going to a grave near Cass’s hometown. Cass wishes she “could go with her” (562).
