Unnamed Kingdom, Wartime
The Beatryce Prophecy takes place in an unnamed kingdom during a time of war. In Chapter 2, the narrator reveals, “All of this took place during a time of war. Sadly, this does not distinguish it from any other time; it was always a time of war” (11). References to widespread war and violence can be found throughout the novel. This is the one defining feature of the kingdom.
