The Prince is the heir to the throne in his kingdom. He is thoughtless and self-centered as a young man, at least partly because he has never understood true love. He breaks up with Circe when he believes she is the daughter of a pig farmer. In that relationship and in his relationship with Tulip, he bases his feelings of “love” on whether the girl fits his description of a perfect woman. He considers beauty to be the most important trait, followed by her ability to act like a future queen. This includes her clothes and manners.
