Summary

In chapter nineteen, Kayla suddenly realizes that using the computer could have been a bad idea because it could lead the police to her current location. They spend several days at the apartment and Kayla is relieved to see the story about her move from front page to a paragraph on page twelve. Mava then says she and Tova are planning to go on to Canada and she invites Kayla to join them. Kayla is relieved to have the invitation and accepts. They head out and Tova is planning to crash through another toll gate when the car suddenly veers out of control and crashes into a barrier. Kayla rouses herself to realize that Mava is alive but badly injured and Tova is dead. Mava tells Kayla to run but Kayla hesitates, saying she can't leave them. Mava says Kayla can't do anything for them...
