Chapters 51-57 Summary

In chapter 51 Candy waits until Thomas reaches out again and is able to get a sense of who he is and where. Candy teleports to Cielo Vista as Thomas is trying to warn Derek to run. Candy kills Derek and comes after Thomas. The two struggle, with Candy making disparaging remarks about the fact that Thomas has Down's syndrome. To save his sister Thomas fights through the pain and stabs Candy with the scissors that Pollard has used to kill Derek, just like Thomas had seen in his vision. Candy stabs Thomas and the young man realizes he is dying. Before he leaves for the Bad Place, Thomas sends thoughts to Bobby that the Bad Thing is coming and to keep Julie safe.
