Summary

The narrative proceeds to illustrate brief vignettes from the protagonist’s life. A few years ago, the youngest daughter jumped off of the couch and bumped her head against the floor. The protagonist could not catch her in time; the daughter received a bruise. Years prior, when the protagonist was 22 years old, she interviewed a woman for her job.
