The Quest for Glory

The quest for glory drives both Jesse James and Bob Ford and causes both their untimely deaths. In the case of Jesse James, the need for glory prompts him to brag about his exploits. He tells those being robbed his name and makes sure that he receives credit for the majority of his robberies. He's happiest when the newspapers are reporting on the bravado shown by members of the James Gang. These newspaper accounts result in the need for official interaction. A reward is offered that prompts several of the gang members to plot against Jesse, hoping to earn the reward.
