Point of View
The novel is told in two distinct point-of-views- Raihn and Oraya- that continually change between chapters. At the beginning, the chapters are fairly evenly split. Around the halfway point, however, Oraya takes more of the focus as she has to save Raihn. Since she does not have all the information, the author is able to maintain suspense by staying in her point of view. After the rescue, the perspective shift between the two characters goes back to a mostly even split.
Both characters have a unique voice and personal struggles that set their narration apart from the other. Oraya, for example, acts much more hot headed than Raihn, so her narration is a bit snappier and contains much more anger at her situation. At the same time, she constantly hears her father's voice in her head, praising or berating her depending on the situation. This...
