Summary

The Prologue opens with a king watching his greatest love, a human woman, fight the vicious Bloodborn. Deciding that her life is more important than his kingdom, he gives it away to the Bloodborn king. The king’s fighter lets the woman kill him and the King attacks to bait her into killing him. The narrator says the King knew she would be his ruin, and will know it when he dies again.

Part One: "Night" opens with Chapter One: "Oraya" as she dreams of the death of her father, King Vincent. Her husband, Raihn, demands that she open the door and announces that they have guests coming. She sees his genuine concern for her, but hates him for killing her father and taking the throne.

At the meeting, Oraya notices that Raihn is nervous despite his conqueror King persona...
