Summary
Anne-Catherine believes that Stéphane never really loved her, she felt like a possession to him. Stéphane says this is not true, and Anne-Catherine knows it. In late 2005, though, Stéphane essentially replaces Anne-Catherine. He starts going out with a girl named Stéphanie Mangin, who looks extremely similar to Anne-Catherine. A month after being sent back to prison for trying to contact Anne-Catherine, he and Stéphanie move in together in Strasbourg.
Things are going well for Stéphane, he has been paid one hundred thousand dollars by a French publishing agency to have a ghost writer produce a book about him. Beyond publishing a book, the publicity he hopes it will gather will allow him to start a new life. He hopes to frame himself as something of an art security expert, and get into security consulting.
