Summary
Stéphane is brought to a jail near Geneva, and once there, meets Alexandre Von der Mühll. Von der Mühll shows Stéphane five more photographs of art, to which Stéphane responds anxiously, saying that he did not steal those pieces. Von der Mühll tells him to relax, that these are works from Von der Mühll's own, personal, art collection. Stéphane has not requested a lawyer, which he is legally entitled to upon request according to Swiss law. Von der Mühll wants to keep it this way, and so plays the role of a compassionate and understanding fellow art-lover. He strokes Stéphane's ego by saying he knows that Stéphane is a true art lover, stealing for passion, not for money.
