Chapters 29 - 35 (Pages 166 - 206) Summary

In Chapter 29, Denny and Enzo go to Maxwell and Trish's house the day Eve dies. There is a terrible sadness in the air. Enzo tries to play fetch with Zoë but she is quiet and listless so Maxwell throws the tennis ball for Enzo.

Trish and Maxwell are suing Denny for sole custody of Zoë. Maxwell claims that he and Trish discussed the matter with Eve, but Denny does not believe this. Trish and Maxwell present Denny with legal papers and suggest that Denny consult an attorney.

In Chapter 30, Enzo imparts more life philosophy disguised as racing philosophy. Enzo remarks on the importance of a smart strategy and not just a heavy accelerator foot. Denny thinks five moves ahead of his rivals. Denny's impressive racing record aside, Enzo realizes that Denny will simply have to out-think Maxwell...
