Summary
Chapter 26 provides a brief description of the community of Tinderwick, in which each person specializes in a certain type of labor or expertise, and contributes their knowledge for the good of the overall community.
In Chapter 27, Todbaum attempts to ingratiate himself with the locals. He gives them coffee—which is virtually nonexistent since the Arrest—and tells them stories of his cross-country journey. Journeyman listens from nearby.
In Chapter 28, Journeyman tries to focus on his deliveries, instead of on Todbaum.
In Chapter 29, Journeyman visits a building that used to be a library. A few weeks ago, a newcomer arrived in Tinderwick by rowboat and took up residence in the library. Journeyman brings her some supplies, and she is friendly, but not very talkative.
