Point of View
The short story is written from the third person limited point of view. This close third person narrator strictly attends to Melania Trump's consciousness. By writing the story from this narrative vantage, the author is able to explore the effects of power, desire, and fame on the individual's sense of self and understanding of the world. The close third person point of view also enacts Melania's pervasive feelings of inadequacy and invisibility. Because few people, other than her stepdaughter Tiffany, acknowledge "her power," Melania is determined to make "small efforts" that might prove her worth and significance (1).
