Chapter Twenty-Four, Mrs. Coulter in Geneva Summary
Mrs. Coulter drives the intention craft to the College of St. Jerome in Geneva. After sneaking in through the roof, she finds Father McPhail. Mrs. Coulter is very much herself, taking the opportunity to insult a young monk, Brother Louis, and demanding he fetch her something to drink. Mrs. Coulter does not explain anything about the intention craft, but says she stole a gyropter and landed if far from the College when it ran out of fuel. When McPhail asks why she did not turn Lyra over to them, Mrs. Coulter said she wants to protect her daughter from the priests. She tells him about Lord Asriel's fort and his foundries.
