Part 1: Chapters 5-8 Summary
In Chapter 5, Paul picks the children up from Karol's house and apologizes for not being able make Karol's name change hearing. As Paul leaves with the kids, Karol continues listening to the news for information concerning the McKoy exhibition. Two years prior, McKoy led another expedition to the Heimkehl Caverns in Germany where they found cars and famous paintings. McKoy secured permits to go on the excavation and is only allowed to keep a certain amount of the money.
At the beginning of Chapter 6, Paul brings Marla and Brent back home. He gets into the house easily because Rachel insists he keep a key to the house.
