Summary

In Chapter Five, Alice goes to school the next morning and is confronted by Kennedy, who tells her she caused Brooke and Steve to get in a giant fight. Coach Donovan walks by and Kennedy asks him where Brooke is. He says he has not heard from her and had assumed she slept at Kennedy’s house, but Kennedy says she has not seen her. Coach tries to call Brooke, but she does not answer. He shrugs and says she is probably with Steve. Kennedy tells Alice that he and Brooke have been fighting over money. Steve appears in the hallways looking hungover and dirty. He has only one shoe on. He says he woke up in the woods and has not seen Brooke.
