Summary

Chapter 42 returns to Day Two with the butler. The footman is standing over the butler’s bed asking Anna if he is the butler. After Anna confirms, the butler kills him.

Chapter 43 begins Day Seven. Aiden’s first thought is that the Plague Doctor was telling the truth, Anna did betray him.

Aiden knows instinctively that his new host is the constable, Jim Rashton. He is not sure why he is hiding in the attic. He is surprised when Anna runs to greet him. He warns her he does not trust her because she betrayed him. She informs him that she trusts him even though she remembers him killing her. She puts a bishop in his hand to identify herself. Looking at the bishop, he remembers a loop in which he killed her out of desperation. Aiden admits to Anna he does not...
