Summary
In Chapter 32, Aiden wakes on Day Six as an old man. Gold is calling to him using his real name. Gold shows him the chess piece Anna gave Aiden, a sign he is trustworthy. Gold is raving as he warns Aiden not to get out of the carriage. Gold has cut his own arms suggesting that whatever he has experienced has made him lose his sanity.
Chapter 33 returns to Day Two with the butler. The butler wakes briefly to see a man holding a shotgun pacing in the room.
Chapter 34 returns to Day Six. Aiden wakes as the old man again, a man who believes his age-related issues are a sign of weakness. He finds his invitation and determines he is being hosted by Edward Dance.
