Summary

In Chapter 15, back in the library, Cunningham asks Ravencourt how he knew what was going to happen at lunch. Ravencourt’s note had detailed the way Stanwin would attack Lucy. Ravencourt explains the situation as he understands it.

Cunningham tries to abandon Ravencourt, but Ravencourt blackmails Cunningham into continuing to work for him by suggesting that he knows Cunningham’s secret. Ravencourt promises Cunningham that if he does as he wishes that he will not share Cunningham’s secret. When Cunningham agrees, Ravencourt asks Cunningham to carry out several tasks including bringing him the note from the well, finding out who has a plague doctor’s mask, and making sure everyone knows he is looking for Anna.
