Travis Devine

Travis Devine is a 32-year-old man as this novel opens. He is the youngest of three children and received no emotional support from his parents. He planned to have a career in the military despite his father's anger over that decision. While in the army, he discovered an officer named Hawkins had killed another officer, and that officials had covered up the murder. Devine fought with Hawkins who then died of his injuries. This novel opens after Devine has taken a low-level job at the financial house of Cowl and Comely. He chose the job as penance for Hawkins's death.
