Chapter 37

Sammy is being taken somewhere on a bus. Sammy is not too scared because he believes he will see Cassie soon. A soldier called Parker brings him a snack and drink. Parker sits beside him and talks to him for a while. Parker tells Sammy he has nothing to fear, that the camp they are taking him to keeps the bad guys out.

Chapter 38

The girl across from Sammy wakes up. Sammy moves over and offers her some gummy snacks. She refuses. The girl is shy, but she tells Sammy her name is Megan. She doesn't say much more, and she will not speak to Parker at all. Parker comes back to their seat and presses a metal disc to their heads, telling them he is checking...
