Chapter 5 Summary

Dad takes Haven to dinner every Thursday night. Ashley used to accompany them but has been too busy with the wedding lately. Dad tells Haven that Lorna wants to spend more time with her and Ashley and offers to send his three girls to the beach after Ashley's wedding, insisting that Haven would really like Lorna if she gave her a chance. His lecture is interrupted by Tony Trezzora greeting Dad as the waiter insists Haven needs pepper on her food. Haven nearly falls over when she recognizes Sumner whom she has not seen since a few weeks after Ashley broke up with him. He asks about Ashley and is surprised to learn she is getting married. Sumner and Dad catch up before Sumner has to leave for his other job. Sumner tells Haven to congratulate Ashley for him, and Haven claims she...
