Summary

In Chapter 33, Hal remembered being concerned during the summer they were on Cape Cod because Danny was still a virgin. As class president, Hal felt he was responsible for getting Danny a girl with whom he could have sex. Hal decided he would share Diana with Danny. Hal admitted to himself that she was not his type, but thought she was the kind of girl who would do anything if she was drunk.

Hal thought Diana looked stupid in her white dress with her hair loose and blowing around. Still, he gave her vodka punch and talked to her as if he liked her.
