Summary
In Chapter 6, Diana’s bruises from the summer faded, and she was relieved when her period started. Her mother noticed something was wrong the first night she was at home, but Diana would not tell her what had happened. Her sisters thought she had gotten her heart broken by a summer boyfriend. Diana, who had enjoyed the feelings she had gotten when she masturbated, swore to herself she would never have sex again. She had bad dreams. There were periods of time she could not remember. Her grades dropped. Diana’s mother took her to her pediatrician. She would not tell him what had happened either, but he begged her to let someone help her.
