Summary
In Chapter 20: "A Grand Finale," an actor named Armin takes control of the audience with Puck's final speech. The dance starts with Armin helping the exhausted Joan reach Shakespeare. He asks why Joan did not mention her magic, hints that his mother may know something, but promises to talk later. Joan loves the crowd's adoration, but thinks she will never experience it again.
Backstage, Joan confirms she has magic and is relieved when no one calls her a witch. As the authorities arrive, Goodfellow promises to escort the twins safely home. However, she is horrified to see Samuel bleeding to death. James gives a prayer to Oya and Joan holds Samuel's hand until the end.
