Summary
In Chapter 5, Adam is late for his job at a call-in center for army retirees. He is looking for a different job because he hates the work he is doing. He feels humiliated by Calvin McCloy, the man who suggested the job to Adam. Calvin was also a soldier who was burned over 40 percent of his body when the Bradley in which he was riding caught fire. In addition to his burns, Calvin was diagnosed with PTSD and TBI but after fighting with his disorders for years, claims to have come to terms with them and appears to be content with his life of repetition even though he admits he would rather still be a soldier.
