Summary
In Chapter 2, Amanda Doster, James Doster’s widow, waits for the moving company to ring her doorbell so that she can begin her move to her new house built with money given to her by the United States Army because her husband was killed in service. There are certain items, most of which are related to James, that she tells the movers she will transport herself. She and her friend, Sally, go down to the basement to take the guns and weapons from a safe in the basement. Amanda also removes the box containing James’ cremains.
After James was first killed, Amanda had first keep his cremains on the dresser in her bedroom and then had slowly moved them downstairs to the firesafe. Even though she had moved his physical remains out of her day to day life, Amanda remained heartbroken about James’ death...
