Summary
In Chapter 22, Teancum wakes the entire camp to be ready in case the Lamanites attack as revenge for Amalickiah's death. Instead, the soldiers begin to retreat. Many escape before Teancum's men can intercept them. Jenny tells Jim that the woman named Shimono had protected her, both from Amalickiah and from the jealousy of the other concubines. Teancum learns that Ammoron took over as the Lamanite king after Amalickiah's death, but has retreated to regroup. Teancum is furious that he did not kill Ammoron as well. Garth arrives and is amazed that Jim has been spending time with Hagoth. He berates Jim for not recognizing the name from their studies. Teancum receives a letter from Moroni that outlines their plans. There is also a letter from Helaman requesting that Jim and Garth join him in the land of Melek. Jim knows this probably...
